Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been advised not to exert himself and remain silent for a while after he underwent a 5-hour throat surgery in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Kejriwal underwent the surgery for chronic cough at the Narayana Health City in Bommasandra, Bengaluru. Doctors said that the Delhi CM's tongue was too big for his mouth. they stated that Kejriwal suffered from an "enlarged soft palate and uvula in relation to a slight increase in the volume of the tongue".
"He was operated on Tuesday for persistent cough which has troubled him for over 40 years. The surgery corrected an anatomical abnormality of his oral-pharyngeal (part of the throat) and palatal (top surface of the mouth) that was causing small amounts of saliva to trickle into his air passage whenever his nose-breathing was affected by allergy or other factors," the hospital said in a press release.
Dr Paul C Salins, medical director and vice-president at Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre, made the initial diagnosis of Kejriwal's throat condition and later operated him too.
"There was a restricted space for the movement of his tongue and an enlarged soft palate and uvula in relation to a slight increase in the volume of the tongue that caused kinematic problems in the function. The surgery involved correction of a significant septal spur and palato-pharyngeal (small muscle at the roof of the mouth) correction. There was repositioning of the tongue-base relationship along with the reorganisation of the chin area. The aim of the correction was functional restoration rather than that of a disease," the release stated.

He claims to end the Drug Menace in Punjab in a month. He is .... RaGa

Mr. Rahul Gandhi.

You were not just born with a golden spoon, but were born on a Peacock throne. Your legacy is something that anyone can be jealous of.

But, neither you, nor your ancestors have been worthy of the stature that you possess.

Every morning I read something about you is either a self made joke or a self made speech that gets converted into a joke.

Amazingly, you caught my attention this morning with Big Claim: CAN SOLVE DRUG MENACE IN A MONTH- RAHUL GANDHI.

Wadi Baba..... Tame to drugs sathe pakdaya... e pan Amerika Ma...

Have you forgotten your saga: You were caught by the FBI with White Powder. and off course Cash.
Seriously, you will end the drugs in a state?

It was a kind gesture from Shri Vajpayee, the then PM of India, whom your mother begged to get you out of the clutches of law.

I guess usually you drugs before you give a speech, probably explaining the reason behind the great blunders that you make.

We have an idiom in Gujarati, "Daahi Saasre Na Jay ane Gandi ne Shikhaman aape"

and that applies to you very well.

Discovery of New Snakes genus and species in Western India

Nature's creations are abundant and it will be hard to imagine if human kind can discover and document them  all.
A pleasant news struck me this morning.  A team of researchers from UK and India has announced the discovery of a new snake in the Western Ghats recently.

The new snake has been named as Melanophidium Khairei’ Khaire’s Black Shieldtail after Neelimkumar Khaire, the emeritus founder of Katraj Snake Park in Pune and the Indian Hereptological Society.
The team included researchers from the Natural History Museum (NHM), London, UK; National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore, India, the Indian Herpetological Society (IHS), Pune, India and the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS). First author Dr David Gower and Dr Mark Wilkinson from NHM Ashok Captain of IHS/BNHS and Varad Giri a post doctoral fellow of NCBS constituted the team.
The discovery is the result of meticulous efforts of last 15 years by David Gower of  NHM and his colleague Mark Wilkinson, Giri, Ashok- the Captain of Bombay Natural History Society, Mumbai and Indian Herpetological Society, Pune.
According to researcher Varad Giri of National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bengaluru, the snake belongs to family Uropeltidae, which comprises all species which are burrowers and live mostly underground. It is said that this would be the first time that a new species has been correctly identified after a gap of 144 years.
The news comes barely  a couple of days after another team of researchers discovered an entire genus of snake. The species has been named as Wallaceophis Gujaratenisis.

The snake genus has been named Wallaceophis in honour of the legendary 19th century British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913), considered the father of biogeography, while the snake species has been named Gujaratenisis to commemorate the western Indian state where it was discovered.

Are you listening??? Then listen CAREFULLY!!! Ear-phones are damaging your ear.

Are you listening??? Then listen CAREFULLY!!! Ear-phones are damaging your ear.

The flow of tunes through the wire right into your eardrums may be indeed a treat; even soul satisfying. From rock to jazz and sugam sangeet to karaoke of your favourite Rehman tunes, all is good till the threat they pose, not the music, your EAR Phones.

Image result for listening earphones deaf

Add to it the amount of time you spend on your cell phone and lo !!! The perfect recipe for deafness is being cooked up.

Expert warn that this prolonged exposure to cell phone and the cumulative effect of radiation and the music through ear phones can actually damage your ears.

Now, don’t tell me you knew it. Yes you did. But never bothered to care. Many a times, you tune into your choicest F.M. channel after a hectic day to re-wind while you are on your bed. And you doze off while the radio is on.

All this amounts to NHIL- Noise Induced Hearing Loss, a common ear problem being treated by ENT specialists. Everyday doctors receive several cases of sudden hearing obstructions that can be avoided.
While in many cases, the damage can be reversed, it depends on the multiple factors like the stage of loss, severity of damage etc. Moreover, it requires administration of Steroids and they bring in their wake, numerous side effects.

So, what happens that causes hearing loss?

Pinna or the external ear collects the sound and passes it to the ear canal. At the end of the canal is a tissue which is known as eardrum. The ear drum vibrates and converts the sound into energy which is transmitted to long coiled tube filled with fluid called Cochlea.

This part has the hearing nerves, where sound becomes electricity and is sent to brain. The tiny hairy structures that convey the sounds to the brains get damaged and are stripped of their outer covering leading to hearing loss.

So how do I know about the hearing loss?
Look for the obvious symptoms. Gradual hearing loss, inability to accept certain high pitch sounds, or shouts indicate it’s time for you to visit an ENT specialist.

High pitch sounds and loud music like heavy metal are proven culprits. Soothing low sounds like drums, tabla, acoustic guitars, and flutes are not harmful.

The Million Dollar Loss..Eh??

Earphones, especially earbud earphones (the ones that can be inserted into the ear canal) amplify the sound about 8 times and are even more harmful. As far as possible, avoid using earphones. Learn to use the speakers and adjust with them.

Use your phone or Bluetooth for long time and you invite the following problems
Using phones or Bluetooth for long times can heat up the fluids in your ear tissues resulting in clicks and buzzing sound in your head. This could lead to auditory illusion (Which do not exist, but you feel the sensation)

Pain in your ears.

Tingling sensation in nearby tissues

Disturbed moods and emotional imbalance.

Lack of concentration

Memory loss

Exhaustion and loss of sleep

Early cataract in eyes

Changes in levels of hormones like dopa mine and serotonin responsible for behavior and sleep

Changes in bio-cycles like sleep, eating habits, metabolism, sperm production, abnormal foetal developments, miscarriage etc

So Now what?
Image result for avoid earphones

The choice is simple:

All those hacks that you would have read and never applied. IT IS NOW OR NEVER. NATURE WILL NOT REPLACE YOUR NATURAL BODY PARTS. YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE OF WHATEVER IS GIVEN TO YOU.

Hold your phone away from body while talking.

Switch between the ears for longer conversations.

Use phones on speaker mode or on low volume.

Carry the phone away from the body

Text more than voice calling wherever possible

Get your ears cleaned and treated by ENT specialist at regular intervals

Stay put while talking and be in a strong signal area. Avoid talking in a moving car or train.

Wait till a signal connects your call before putting the phone on your ears

Avoid conversations longer than 10 minutes and avoid using cell phone for more than 60 minutes a day

Keep mobile phones away from children, especially the ones below 7 years of age

Avoid phone while near machinery or during driving as it lowers reaction times

Get  your blood sugar and cholesterol measured at regular intervals. Diabetes tend to deaden nerve endings and may cause deafness. Likewise high cholesterol causes blocks in the blood vessels of the ears, leading to damage.

Stay Safe.

It's tea time

In India, anytime is Tea time. Guess what do people consume the most after water as beverage? No awards here- its Tea.
The story of how a Camellia sinesis (botanical name of tea plant) shoot with twin leaves and a bud became the most popular beverage after water is a romantic one. A Chinese emperor accidentally discovered it when a few teas fell into a pot of boiling water, rendering it flavoured and energetic. From carrying innumerable history in its’ wake like The Boston Tea Party to being part of diverse cultures & being reflected in literature like the Tea Party in Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland, Tea is a super beverage.
India, Kenya, China & Sri Lanka are world leaders in Tea exports. In terms of annual consumption, Ireland leads the charts.
Mainly depending on the time of processing, tea can be classified as White, Black, Green and Oolong.
the difference comes from how fresh leaves of tea plant are processed and their level of contact with oxygen. During oxidation, tea leaves undergo natural chemical reactions that result in distinctive colour and taste. Ideally, tea is a healthy tonic because of absence of sodium, fats, carbonation or sugar; hence it is almost calorie free. Tea promotes fluid balance in the body and contains natural antioxidants. Tannin which contributes to taste and pungency of tea also holds for the health benefits of it.
The Most popular types of tea include
Black Tea- Rich in anti-oxidants Theaflavins and Thearubins. Contain approximately 40 mg caffeine per cup.
Green Tea- There are many sub-varieties like Sencha, Genmaicha, Gyukoro & Matcha (Japanese teas), Gunpowder, Longjing (Chinese teas). They are rich in catechins antioxidants and contain 30 mg caffeine per cup.
Oolong Tea- Flavour of Oolong tea varies from sweet, honey like, milky to roasted.
White Tea- Leaves are picked tender and young and contains more amount of Antioxidants than any other variety. White tea is good for cancer prevention, and also assists weight loss.
Having read the above, the following are preparations rather than types of teas. Have a sip of tea while you read.

Black tea is inoculated with lemon juice to pamper the tongue with hot flavoured Lemon tea.  Lemon juice itself is rich in antioxidants and forms a great combo with tea to boost immunity, fight cancer, aid weight loss, and burn fat and cure common cold and flu. This tea is perfect for the lazy mornings.

Orange Peel Tea
Adding Orange peel while the tea leaves are boiled adds a tang to it. The fruity flavoured drink can be consumed cold as well as hot.

A Successful Career in Godmanship

Theo based business has always been profitable since times immemorial. From Agarbatti to pujari’s donation, pooja thali to rituals, and from road side bhikhari-“Allah ke naam pe....Ishwar ke naam pe to Radhe Ma, it is a sure gain.

Looking at Asaram Bapu and his ashrams, one must be indeed tempted to attempt at least one toe into a profession of no dusk. Indeed a career perhaps more secured than a government job and that gives more returns than an e-start-up.

A person with any qualification can apply. In fact it does not require any qualification. Asaram was a bootlegger prior to his new avatar. So no previous experience is required.

The job comes with a royal routine. You just need to set your appearance with a beard, a long tilak, white clothes or saffron attire- need not be khadi, can be silk, tempting already?

Watch out for more: creating a dummy disciple brigade is an investment, but the funding may be returned from the tel, sabun and even fast food like Noodles- recall how Baba Ramdev announced launching one, when maggi was banned?

With experience & passage of time, master the art of Bhabhuti throwing, creating gold chains in air, etc- THIS IS CORE COMPETENCE- MIND IT.

If you are funded, you can make a movie on your own- Info courtesy: Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Or like an upcoming one on Radhe Ma.Be sure to network with angel investors likes Guptaji.

Now what, Bhaktjano. Dil khol ke chanda do!!! Keep building ashrams, and make sure you make controversial statements to stay in limelight.

CAUTION: BEWARE OF CAMERA. THE PROFESSION IS PRONE TO ESPIONAGE

Towards serving the best of the Gujarati Thali, a village theme based restaurant begun operations way back in 1978 under the able leadership of Designer, Mr. Surendra Patel. It was named Vishalla. The place is fit for the purpose owing to its vastness, the ambience, and the immense relaxation it offers. Vishalla's portrayal as a typical Indian village can be traced back to the childhood memories of the designer. In the city, he could never find the same free, relaxed, natural living that he had experienced during the school vacations he spent in the village. As a designer, he always thought about ways to bring the urban milieu closer to nature and sharing with them the blessed experience of feeling free. He actualized his ideas through the Vishalla campus and in its decorum, which now makes us all proud of its rich culture.

The campus has a museum, runs a puppet show, and creates the perfect Indian village ambience. The natural connect with the plants and the muddy lanes itself delivers the mind from all day-to-day concerns. The pronounced village-like environment is experienced in every nook and corner of Vishalla. There are lanterns to light up the place, the entire area is mud-plastered, and even the entertainment section uses no modern sound systems. The effect is further enhanced with the staff dressed in a traditional, Indian style. What’s more, it is not merely the village-style apparel donned by the staff; they also exhibit a heart-felt hospitality typical of village folks! Gorge on at vishalla.
