India's most popular Sit-coms (Comedy TV Shows)

Indian Sitcoms have always been appreciated since the Doordarshan times. The All India official dinner time was adjusted to the sitcoms.
There have been comedy serials that have gone beyond the general entertainment and have left a Forget me Never mark over the Indian masses in the nation as well as globally.
It is always debatable when preparing a list of such all time comedies, with one or the another fighting for the spots. The following is my list. In case I missed out on any, All time list of Indian comedy Serials:

- The lead characters love thy neighbor's wives leading to comic situations. Keshav Kulkarni has a soft corner for Prema Shalini, an actress. Her husband Dilruba eyes Keshav's wife Kokila. The hate relationship between Dilruba & Keshav sends a laughter riot.
Nukkad


All time Indian comedies
- A drama cum comedy depicting life of middle class and labour class living in a chawl & their meeting at the street or nukkad. It has had a couple of re-runs on DD metro as well.
Dekh Bhai Dekh

- The  craziest family that keeps pulling legs of other members and still living under a roof with love.
Hum Paanch

- the tale of 5 naughty, adventurous, trouble inviting sisters changed the style of comedies forever. Their father- Anand Mathur is troubled by his wife Beena, the ghost of his late wife (Played by Rajni Tendulkar) and his daughters- Meenakshi, Radhika, Sweety, Kajal  & Choti.
Ye Jo Hai Zindagi

- One of the pioneers of comedies in India, YJHZ has had  a great number of re-runs owing to its' popularity. Ranjit Verma (portrayed by Late Shafi Inamdar), his wife Renu & Renu's brother Raja encounter Satish Shah in each episode in different roles.
Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah

- This show about a society and the unity among residents has won hearts over the years and has been a chart buster for over 8 years.
Wagle  Ki Dunia

- Adapted from  RK Laxman's common man and his follies.
Tu-Tu-Main-Main

- The  Indian comedy showcase of sweet n salty tale of Mom-in-law & daughter-in-law, their petty quarrels and the saga of never ending love and care for each other.
Office-office


- The struggle of a common man to move ahead his tasks in a government office or a public office. Depicts the mirror of corruption in the country.
Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai


- Sarabhais are an elite Gujarati family residing in Mumbai. Another tale of Saas-bahu, where Maya tries to belittle Monica (Daughter-in-Law) leading to situational comedy.
Flop Show

- Jaspal Bhatti etched his name in Indian comedy history with this series of one episode stories that were not just humorous, they were a  roller coaster.  Ably supported by numerous characters including his wife Savita, Jaspal was simply the first laughter champion on Indian television.
Padosan

- meaning neighbour's wife,  is a light comedy concocting tales among neighbors.
Khichdi
-The entire crazy Parekh family has the capabilities to make you roll on the floor laughing.
Zabaan Sambhal Ke
A super hit comedy on DD metro, that was aired in late 90's. it highlights high unemployment rates in India, where the lead character is forced to teach Hindi at an institute to supplement his needs. the comedy arises out of his interactions with his students.
Mungerilal Ke haseen sapne
- Raghuveer Yadav who plays Mungerilal is bossed around by his wife and his boss. His  day-dreaming is all about revenge with his boss.
Yess Boss
- Mohan & Meera work in same  office, but nobody knows they are married. Vinod,  the boss has a crush on  Meera and this angers mohan.
Movers & Shakers
- Hosted by Shekhar Suman, and the Rubber band to provide background music, his jokes and one liners were sought after, especially before the modern day internet made jokes trending.
